Tau Beta Pi is an honors society for engineers founded at Lehigh University in 1885. Today there are chapters at 248 colleges and universities with over 594,000 total members.
Chapter MS Alpha at MSU was first established in 1928. Our chapter is one of the few chapters in Tau Beta Pi that is represented by a concrete bent on campus. Check out this article in order to learn more about the bent and one of the students who helped create it more than 70 years ago.
Tau Beta Pi initiates are invited each semester based on GPA and major requirements. A few weeks into the semester, elligible students will receive an email invitation from the MS Alpha officer team with instructions on joining. Ellgible initiates must collect signatures from current Tau Beta Pi members and faculty and polish their own personal Tau Beta Pi bent.
